I paint peace.

Somehow, I find hope amidst the horrors. I find light within the heartbreaking certainty that not only is there a war in Ukraine, but we have wars of many forms in our world.

I paint sunflowers, the national flower of Ukraine. I paint the courageous colors of the people of Ukraine.

I paint Peace.
May we know we are One.

Collaborating with the Three Village Community Trust in Setauket, NY, I installed a metal sunflower at the site of the Factory Worker Houses. The houses honor immigrants of the 1900s.

©2022 Alicia R Peterson. Paint your sunflowers for peace. It doesn’t have to be perfect; it just needs to be filled with hope. I am an abstract artist, so I know it’s daunting to try to honor the beauty of the sunflower. Give it a try. Let me know how it goes.
