I am longing for cool. How about you?

Cool colors, cool drinks, cool breezes, and most importantly, being cool inside.

I am not talking about whatever societal conditioning deems cool. That cool I endeavor not to consider.

Actually I was not a cool kid… ever. I was labeled many things: weirdo, strange, smarty pants, goody two shoes, teacher’s pet, rebel, troublemaker, four eyes (the bane of us who wear glasses). It goes on and on…

And may I say, I will own these labels as some are compliments (even if they were not meant that way).

But no, not never cool. And as an awkward adolescent, I did sometimes long to be with the cool crowd. But for the most part I was content and nurtured by my crowd of studious, smart, shy keeners.

But on to the colors of summer. As an abstract artist, I paint the inside story.

How we weather storms. How we dance with light and shadow and find our internal rhythm. What we look like deep inside our souls… our true colors.

Jump into the colors of summer. Swim in the cosmos.
