Improvisation is at the core of my art
Paint pours out of me as I flow. Studying improvisation felt like coming home.
One of the foundations of improv is saying yes when your partner makes you an offer. Sounds like a piece of cake, but NO comes out of my mouth easily. As I build the yes muscle, I build the yes that sustains me.
I say YES with delicious discomfort. I say YES to the power of creativity.
YES to crazy color choices, YES to blank canvases that mock me with their vast empty spaces and YES to painting the shadows of our world.
