Stan Brodsky taught me that my feelings about painting were true, my insides were really showing. He was my first teacher who “got me.” And most importantly, studying with Stan showed me that art was bigger than the self. That my fears of standing tall in creation diminished not only me, but the world.

It is with a sad heart that I tell you that Stan Brodsky passed on March 30, 2019, at age 94. This long-planned tribute will now be a bittersweet celebration to honor his enormous contributions. Art has the power to transmute. Stan Brodsky transmuted his students, his art colleagues, and our world.
