I bought canvas from the estate of Connie Fox
This is another story of how I jumped into large scale painting. I have yet to put paint on Connie’s canvas. I am in the percolating stage. I am intimidated and excited by the size.
That morning as I introduce the moving company to my studio, I feel the respect they have for my space. I let out a sigh, this will be ok.
Then the moving man reached to wrap up the first of my paints and I had a visceral reaction! I nearly snatched the paint bottle out of his hand and I wanted to yell. Nobody touches my paints!
Yes we have moved. Yes we found our dream house still in our loved north shore community. Yes my studio is double the size, light filled and has a fireplace. Yes my beloved has an enormous basement workshop where he can build wooden boats and help me create beauty.
No, it has not been smooth sailing. Despite being fortunate in all ways. I have struggled with the transition. My paints are still in boxes…sad sigh. But at least now I know where they are. I have not painted in what feels like forever.
Yes it will all come together. I am going extra-large and hard edged. I now have a giant easel to paint my giant rectangle canvas. Well, that is another story.

It’s after midnight and I have no energy to pack my precious paints. I go to sleep troubled.

Once I put up art by my talented art pal Denise N Kramer I felt more at home in my studio.
My painting table had to be disassembled for the move.
I can’t leave you without sharing beauty. Here are some recent works completed before the move.
